Dearly beloved of God, remember it is impossible to please Him without faith.
Hebrews 11:6 states, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."
Jesus during His earthly ministry often mentioned the subject of faith. In Luke 8:25 Jesus asked His disciples: "Where is your faith?" and in Mark 4:40, "How is it that ye have no faith?"
Faith is the most important part of our relationship with God. Often I quote Romans 10:17. "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."
Many people, born again Christians, love to reads books, newspapers, magazines, etc. instead of the Bible. They do not give the Word of God priority in their lives, but rather the things that do not strengthen their faith in God and what He can do. Consequently, when problems arise, they are filled with unbelief and doubt instead of being filled with the Word of God, which produces faith in Him.
Many people who are faced with problems do believe that the Lord will help them. They earnestly pray and read their Bible and believe, but when they don't seen an instant miracle or solution to their problem, they begin to doubt and waver in their faith because unbelief starts filling their mind, thinking such things as: 'what if the Lord does not help me'; 'why is it taking so long'; 'how is He going to do it,' etc. not realizing that wavering, doubt and unbelief stops God's hands.
Beloved, faith only works when we don't entertain those thoughts.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 21:21, "If ye have faith, and doubt not, it shall be done," and in verse 22, "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
Abraham's faith is an example for us as Christians. We read in Romans 4:17-18, "(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickened the dead, and called those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be."
Abraham accepted this promise from God by faith. We are Abraham's seed and should understand that no matter what kind of problem we encounter in our lives, there is a scripture (promise) regarding the situation in God's Word. We should have the faith like Abraham without doubting that God will do what He promises in His Word.
For example: when we are sick, we can quote Isaiah 53:5b, "and with His stripes we are healed." When we are in need, Philippians 4:19, "But my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." When you are weak, Psalms 29:11a, "The Lord will give strength unto His people." Find God's promises in His Word pertaining to your situation. Like Abraham believed and hoped, so must we also have faith in God and in His Word. We cannot doubt or waver; we are Abraham's seed.
Look at verses 19-22, "And being not weak in faith he considered not his own body, now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb, He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. And being fully persuaded that what he had promised He was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness."
The important thing is to have faith and trust in God. Abraham's situation in the natural was impossible, but he believed God by faith. Never doubt God's word and his promises. Abraham didn't, so neither should we. Sometimes it looks impossible to get out of the situation we are in, as specially when it seems nothing is happening. So then, we start to waiver doubt talking and thinking negatively such as : " I'm still not heal yet", " i don't see God move for me", " I wonder if he heard my prayer or see's my situation", etc.
Get rid all of that doubt, wavering, unbelief, and start believing God and His word.
God's power is greater than any problem, situation, or sickness we encounter. And his supernatural power will manifest over them all when we BELIEVE and trust Him and what his word says.
Verses 23 - 24 State : " Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to Him. But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on Him that raise Jesus our Lord from the dead."
Abraham experienced it, and so can we. We are Abraham's seed and have the right to God's promises. What do you need? Healing? Prosperity? A way out? Exercise your faith, believe, and trust God to deliver you out of whatever is coming again see you. He is able to perform His promises.
Abraham's faith in God made it possible for him to receive God's promises. Faith will move the hand of God for you. Faith is meaning being dead toward doubt, deaf towards despair, and blind to the impossible.
Decide today to develop and become strong in your faith. God is faithful and true and he will come trough for you. Believe and trust Him.
